A sensational "holdup" of a New York night club is tho thrill given by Lon. Chancy and a la,rge east as one of the details of "The lilg City," n-hlcli Is now screening at the Do Luxe Theatre. Tho story shows Chancy as the chief of a group of gangsters in a plot of gangster warfare. Marcellne Day plays the heroine, a shopgirl enmeshed In the plot, and James Murray the juvenile lead, n youag henchman of the gangster star, lietty Compson, Mathew Betz, John George, Virginia Pearson, and others of note are in tho. cast. A ballet of screen beauties, trained by Margaret Burt, former Follies dancer, under the supervision of Tod Browning, the director, is seen In one ojaborate scene. The "hold-up" is staged by James Murray and-Dotty Coinpson, who, as mqsked dancers,'. force the guests to pass by, depositing; their valuables on n table, a repetition of an occurrence in a night club not long ago in New York. Good supports arc also shown-.and tho usual excellent musical programme is supplied. '
