FOR HIGHER HONOURS

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHUECH, This Day. Out of the seventeen members of the City Council at least seven will be candidates for Parliamentary honours at the coming elections. They are:— Mr. D. G. Sullivan, M.P., Mr. H. T. Armstrong, M.P., the Bey. J. K. Archer, Mrs. M'Combs, Mr. F. E. Cooke, and the Eev. Clyde Carr (Labour), ar.d Mr. E. H. Andrews (United Party). There is also a possibility that another councillor, Mr. J. W. Beanland, may secure the Eeforrn nomination for the Kaiapoi scat, in which case he would havo Mrs. M'Combs as one of his opponents.
