United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Ecceivecl 14th Soptember, 10 a.m.) .SYDNEY, This Day. Adelaide and Hobai't report that volunteer labour is handling perishable cargo. So far there has been no interference by strikers. At Adelaido the only work on the waterfront to-day was the- unloading of the motor-ship Minnipa by clerks from the Adelaido Steamship Company's office, the watersiders refusing to accept work on any ship. There are now twenty vessels tied up at Port Adelaide. Free labour was engaged for several other vessels, but work did not commence immediately. At Brisbane, work is again at a complete- standstill on the waterfront, and Brisbane is faced with a potato. famine, although several thousands bags of imported potatoes are on tho idle ships. At Hobart the watersiders again refused to work under the new award, but representatives of tho consignees, by arrangement with the Huddart-Par-ker Company, are unloading perishable goods from the steamer Kowhai. Tho waterside workers at Newcastlo refused to accept work under the new award, and the port is idle.
