PETONE TECHNICAL SCHOOL
The monthly meeting of the Petone Technical School Board of Managers was held on Wednesday. Present: Mr. D. M'Kenzie (chairman), Messrs. G. T. London, H. Morris, A. Greening, J. J. Lewthwaite, W. B. Nicholson, W. Parkinson, and A. Grierson. The board expressed its thanks to the Gear Meat Company for its annual donation of £25. The question of tha liability of the board in case of accident to a pupil was discussed, and it was decided to ask the Education Department to define the managers' responsibility, and if it was found that the managers were liable, to urge that the law be amended to remove that liability. On the moUou of Mr. London it was decided to send a strong protest to the Minister of Education against the delay in purchasing additional land for technical school purposes in Pctonc. It was decided to thank Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., for his interest in endeavouring to secure additional land. On the motion of Mr. Parkinson it was decided to obtain from the Wellington Technical School details of marks given to pupils for efficiency.
