"DAMNATION OF FAUST."

The second performance for the 1028 season will take place to-morrow evening at the Town Hall, when the Royal Wellington Choral Union will render "The Damnation of Faust, by Hector Berlioz, under Mr. John Bishop. This will be the second presentation of the opera in this city, and is creating much enthusiasm amongst the performing members of tho chorus and orchestra. Tho soloists selected are:—Soprano, Madame Winnie Fraser; baritone, Mr. Barry Coney, and bass, Mr. D. S. Grant. Mr. Hubert Carter, who was to have undertaken the tenor role, is unfortunately laid up with an attack of quinsy, and Mr. Edwin Denis has at very short notice undertaken to sing tlie part of "Faust." Tho final rehearsal will take place at tho Town Hall at 7.30 to-night. Owing to the length of tlie opera, tile performance will commence at 7.4u sharp to-morrow night. Tho box plans can be inspected at tho Bristol, whero 2s tickets will be on sale this evening and to-morrow morning.
