FORECAST.
Tho following forecast was Issued at 9 a.m. to-day for tho ensuing 24 hours:— Winds —North-westerly winds, moderato to strong generally and of gale force in places in and south of Cook Strait; change to southcrlies setting in shortly in the south and extending to other parts of the Dominion within tho next 24 hours. ... Barometer—Falling, but rising again shortly in the south. ■ Seas—Rough south of Capo Egmont and offshore south of Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate. Tides —Good generally. Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen's Island; and Farewell Spit. Weather —Unsettled in western districts and the high country, with scattered showers; elsewhero fair at first but becoming more generally unsettled later with the change to southerly winds. Mild temperatures at first, but cold change later.
