BUTTER AND CHEESE FIRM
Messrs. Dalgety and Company report, London, 13th September, as follow: — "Butter: Market firm. We quote: Danish, 196s to 198s (190s to 1925): New Zealand, fiuest salted, 181s to 186s (179s to 181s); Australian, finest unsalted, 180s to 182s (178s to 180s); Australian, finest salted, 170s to 174s (166s to 170s); Australian, G.A.Q., 160s to 164s (158 ato 1625). Cheese: Market firm. We quote: Australian, white and coloured, 110s to Ills; New Zealand cheese, white 113s to 114s (112s to 114s), coloured 110s to 112s (109s to 110s); spot price for Canadian white, 112s to 114s (110s to 112s); spot price for Canadian coloured, 110s to 112s (110s to 112s); c.i.f. price for Canadian, Ills to 113s (109s to Ills). Total butter imports in United Kingdom last month were 585,000cwt. Same period last year • 465,000cwt. Prices in parentheses are those ruling last Mr! G. A. Mills is in receipt of the following cabled advice from Messrs. A. J. Mills and Co., Ltd., London, dated 13th September:—"Butter: The- market is firmer.' Finest New Zealand, 184s-186s; first grade, ISOs-IS2s; Danish, 1945-1965; Irish, 1765-17Ss. Cheese: This- market is firm; New Zealand'white cheese is quoted at 113s-114s, New Zealand coloured 111s112s, Canadian white 112s-113s, Canadian coloured llls-1125." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London House, under date 12th September:— "Dairy Produce (last week's quotations in parentheses).—Butter, New Zealand choicest salted, 184s (182s) to 186s per cwt.; market firm. Cheese, white 114s (112s) IV cwt; market firm. Cheese: Coloured, 112s per cwt (109s to 110s); market slow."
