HAWKES BAY WOOL SALES
Mr. A. Stewart at the meeting of the Hawkcs Bay Provincial Executive, Dannevirke, pleaded for more wool sales for Hawkea Bay. He said' that sales were held at chief centres close upon each other, and there was not sufficient time between dates of sales to enable buyers' to make a proper inspection of wool before sales. The wool brokers had asked for an extension of time between the sales, but buyers contended that their time was limited. He moved that the question be referred to the Dominion Executive, with the view to securing the co-operation _of the provincial executives to have the time between the «ales extended. Mr. A. M'Lean, who seconded the motion,_ supported the remarkß of the mover, Baying it was time they took an interest in the matter. The motion was carried. Mr. Stewart said that frequently buyers had only tweutyfour hours in which to inspect the_ sheds, and it was impossible in that time to make an adequate survey of all the wools catalogued for sale.
