In the United States national singles tennis tourney at Forest Hills, Crawford (Australia) defeated Van Ryn (U.S.A.), 4-0, C-4, 1-6, 6-2, 0-3. Doeg defeated Austiu (England), 0-4, 5-7, 0-2, 6-8, 6-2. Mangin defeated de Buzelet (France), 8-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Hunter (U.S.A.) defeated Borotra (France), 0-6, 5-7, 6-0, 6-4, 6-2. Brugnon beat Dr. G. King, 6-2, 4-0, 0-0, 6-3. G. Lott beat C. Boussus, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4. Cochet beat Mercur, 4-6, 11-9, 6-4, 6-4. Shields beat Coggeshall, 11-9, 6-2, 6-2. In the quarter finals Shields beat Brugnon, 7-5, 6-1, 6-0. Lott defeated Doeg, 6-2, 6-2, 7-5. Rain stopped play in the matches between Crawford (Australia) and Hunter (U.S.A.) and Cochet (France) v. Mangin (U.S.A.). Hunter was loading Crawford 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, and Mangin had beaten Cochet in the first set, 6-4.
