DEATH BY POISONING

On Tuesday afternoon a mau was foun-1 on it seat in Lambton quay in aa unconscious condition, foaming at the month, and with a bottle of disinfectant beside him. He was removed to the Hospital, and died later iv the afternoon. This morning an inquest was. held.. The man had been identified as William Stewart, an employee of tlie City Council, aged Ss> and who.lived at No. 11, College street. The evidence showed that the deceased was a returned soldier, and suffered from neurasthenia. Since his return from th» war he had been in hospital several times. He was a Scotsman, and had no relatives in New Zealand. The man with whom the deceased lived stated that' Stewart wan addicted to drink, and had had a nervoua breakdown some time ago. The Coroner (Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) found that the deceased died from, the' effects of poison, self-administered.:
