"A GOOD SPORT"

PRAISE FOR MR. ARCHER (By Telegraph.-J'ress Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, This Day. "I want to tell you that I have formed an entirely different opinion of your Mayor since I have met him," said Captain Kingsford Smith at a smoke concert given in honour of the flyers by the Christchurch Eeturned Soldiers' Association. Hearty applause greeted this remark. Captain Smith said that there had been some little controversy about taking off and landing on different days of the week. (Laughter.) "I can say this for your Mayor, he has taken it like the damn good sport that he is. I hope, when I attain the dignified position which he holds, that I will be able to carry it off with tho same dignity that he has given it, although I am not a parson." (Benewed applause.)
