TELEVISION

♦ G.E.C. EXPERIMENTS PERFORMANCE & PREDICTION Australian Press Association. NEW YORK, 11th September. A message from Schenectady states that the General Electric Company give a demonstration to-day of a perfectly synchronised simultaneous broadcast by radio and television of a dramatic performance. The experiment took forty minutes, and was conducted between two rooms in the same building. The pictures broadcast were small, nine square inches, and were sometimes blurred and confused. However, the voice and action were received in a natural manner. It was pointed out that it will be a long time before this form of entertainment will be ready for practical use, but the engineers involved predict in future television theatres in manyplaces, receiving simultaneously single performances occurring at one distant spot.
