WELLINGTON COLLEGE CARNIVAL

An enthusiastic meeting of the executive committee was held In the college rooms on Wednesday evening, 12th September. Mr. W. : A. Ardour, headmaster, presided. Reports from the various sub-committees indicated that preparations are well under way for the carnival to be held on Friday and Saturday, 21st and 22nd September. Thanks to the efforts of the ladles in charge of the various sections, something like £200 is already in sight, and everything points to a substantial (mount being raised. The object of raising tbe funds 1» to floor and equip tho basement of the Memorial Hall as a gymnasium and social ball, and also to develop a much-needed new sports ground to tbe east of Firth House. An appeal is made by the flower stall committee for flowers, seedlings, and pot pl»nts to be delivered at the college. Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson Is to open the carnivsl on JWdsy, 21st September, at 2.30 p.m., snd the carnival will continue on Friday evenine, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening, winding up with a cabaret dauco.
