TOO MANY RAM LAMBS.
Pa.storalists have been notified by the North Island freezing companies that in tho coming season ram lambs will be rejected. The practice of sending such lambs to the works has been growing of late years. This is attributed by some freezing authorities to a mistaken idea on the part of farmers that it is more economical to send in ram lambs than male lambs that temporarily lose some weight and condition by being treated in the usual way. The tendency to increase the numbers of ram lambs sent to the freezing works is growing, however, and it is feared that it may have the effect ot "pulling down" the average returns from the high-grade New Zealand lamb now so firmly established in the London market.
