THE ROBERTSON CAMPAIGN.
♦ The Rev. J. Robertson, M.A., of Christchurch, addressed a good audience in the Vivian Street Baptist Church last night. His subject wns, Hebrews 11., 3, "HowShall We Escape if We Neglect' so Great Salvation?" Tlie preacher said that there were many ocacsions on which God spoke to us, and it is .tragic if we fail to listen. The perils of neglect are many in every_ realm. The neglected garden ■ will furnish a luxuriant crop, of: weeds, a neglected- business will soon be in th« • hands of the liquidator, a neglected mind will soon lie fallow, and the prey of vagrant whims, a neglected body will soon be in the grave. Aud if believers in God neglect the secret place of prayer, the I study of God's Word, and attendance at |. Divine worship, their spiritual life will decay and die. A man need not be a murderer or a thief or a libertine in order to bs lost: all he has to do is to be deaf to God s voice and to neglect the opportunities for salvation, and he will assuredly perish. It is a law none can «vade. This evening will be the last meeting of the campaign, and Mr. Robertson will speak on "The Bandit."
