PORK EXPORT TRADE.
The following is an extract from a report referring to the market for frozen pork:— 1 <Tork: The bacon market, as you will B ee from the official reports has been very firm with better prices. _ This has been reflected by an.increased inquiry for New Zealand bacon pigs.. Up *> "id per lb ex. store has been given for ISew Zealand baconers, and stocks are very light and in firm hands. The prices for light-wagt porkers arc also firm, but owing to the hot weather there is not a very Rood demand. I notice quite a number of New Zealand porker carcases coming over to Smithfield weighing about 1101b This* weights are quite V?» v» tablei n Sfe I fh^ either produce a pig from 60/1001b, pi-. forably 851b average, «>r else make them into baconers weighing, say, 1401b. me Veizhts in between these two ranges are «mite useless for either purpose. Ihis pannot be too strongly impressed upon the producers."
