SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.

The evening was all too short for llie guests of Miss \V. Cooley at the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday, as item after item was given amid warm applause. Light refreshments were served. The performers were Miwses W. Cooley and L. Sim-rock, and Messrs. C. G. Chambers, Matthews, IT. Illingsworth, Stratmore, Walsh, Darcy. Miss \V. Cooley was at the piano. Gifts for the competitions came from Jlarton, and were won by men from the ships iv port.
