R.A.F. MACHINES FITTED British Official Wireless. RUGBY, ,4th July. Ono hundred and eight machines of| the Royal Air Force have now been' fitted with the device known as the slotted wiiig. Contracts for fitting 478, machines are in hand,, and an additional 47 sets have been dispatched foe fitting airplanes overseas; Forty further) sets are awaiting shipment. The Air: Minister, Sir Samuel Hoare, in giving this information in tho House of Commons to-day, reminded the House that! while the slotted wings wero most valuable in securing safety, they were primarily designed to secure more effective control of aircraft at low speeds* A large proportion of accidents in the) Air Force were due to other. causes.
