(From Our Own Correspondent.) ;;; ; '■' NELSON, This -Day;-: llierannual meeting of the Nelson-Trot-ting, Club was held ou Wednesday evening, when Mr. H. Baigent (president) was in the chair. The report showed that in spite ot difficulties the financial position of .the club had improved in that the bank overdraft had been, reduced, and :that there, was an excess ,of assets, over liabilities Tdtalisator receipts had decreased by ,£2584,,...a1th0ugh ..the ; ,stakes :offered were the same as the previous year. For the coming season the club had applied . for. Friday - and Saturday,- Ist and -2nd February. ." Refunds on the totalisator tax for the. past year from the Government amounted to £362 Us 4d.
