"MADAME POMPADOUR.
Splendidly staged, and better described as comic opera of a high standard than a musical comedy, "Madame Pompadour," besides its mirth and melody, has. as produced by the J. C. Williamson- Comany with .Miss-Heppio do Vrles in the title role, some tensely emotional .moments 'in : tho semi-historical burlesque of tho days of Louis XV., which Misa de Vrles gives full effect to. As Pompadour, heartless and mercenary, vested with the glamour of the dictator of the great through their weaker side. Hiss do'Vrles moves through a brilliantly-costumed world. Mr. Arthur Stigant makes an excellent Calicot, and Mr. V. Webster takes, the part of Rene d'Kstrades. The ' choral work U fine. This evening will be the -last opportunity, of seeing this spectacular and diverting production.
