FORECAST.
lhe following forecast was Issued at 9 a.m. to-day for the ensuing 24 hours:— Winds—Northerly winds, . freshening, and after 24 to 36 hours backing to southeilies. Barometer—Falling. Seas—Generally moderate; rising on the west coast south of Cape Egraont. Tides—Moderate on tho east coast; good elsewhere. Weather—Fine at first, but rapidly becoming unsettled in northern districts, arid later more generally, with rain developing. Mild temperatures, hut cold change probable within about 36 hours. Friday, Gth July, 1925.
The-peach was originally a poisonous almond. Its fruity parts were usde to poison arrows, and for that purpose it was introduced into Persia. Transplantation and cultivation have not only removed its poisonous qualities but turned it into the delicious fruit that people now enjoy. ,
