. •.. ■ ■ , YESTERDAY'S SESSIONS The Diocesan Synod resumed its sessions yesterday afternoon and ovsning under the presidency of the Bishop of Wellington, Dr. T. H. Sprott. It was moved that, steps be taken to empower the Diocesan trustees to lease all such lands in the Bolton street property not required for a vicarage site, and, after paying all necessary expenses on the property and providing for the upkeep of the vicarage, to pay one-half of the proceeds into an endowment fund for the benefit of St. Paul's Parish, and the other half to the. vestry of St. Paul's for parish purposes. . This motion, was carried and will remain in force until Synod orders otherwise. On the motion of Mr, G. G. Bridges, Mr. H. E. Evans was re-elected a member of the Wellington Diocesan Pension Fund Trust Board. ■/'... Archdeacon B. Creed Meredith, the Eev. F. Eamson, Bey. P. Houghton, together with present members of the Pension Board, and Messrs. H. Huggins, J.. ■W. Henderson, H. Maclean, H. E. Evans, and E.\F. Hadfleld were appointed a committee to consider General Synod's Provincial Pension Fund proposals when they are published and to report to the next session of the Synod. The second reading of several bills waa proceeded with, these including a bill to regulate collections and bills, to amend the Pension Fund Act, the Fire Insurance Act,; and the Standing Committee Act, ...... ■;■., ■■.'. ". ■■'■' Several reportsI.were .considered in committee, these including one on the Maori mission. ■■ . Colonel Herbert and Mr. J. W. Henderson, retiring members, were re-elect-ed members of the Diocesan Fire Insurance Board.
