A surplus of £9812 on the working of the' trams, and. motor-buses is forecasted in the estimates placed before the Auckland City Council last evening for the year ending 31st March, .1929. The tramway surplus is expected to expand to £58,894, as against £18,942 for the year recently ended, while the estimated deficit on the buses is placed at £49,082, compared with £64,029 last year. Last year's operations of both trams and buses resulted in a total deficit of £45,086. ■
