DEATH BY MISADVENTURE
When the inquiry into the death of Clement Bird, a painter, aged 38. who died as a result of a fall at the new Petono Workshops, was resumed this morning, James Alexander Suiter, inspector of scaffolding, said that he had inspected the work, and did not consider that scaffolding was necessary. "It seems to be clear that this death was accidentally caused," said the Coroner. Mr. Q'Regar did not suggest there was any remissness on the part of the employer. His finding would be that the deceased died at the Wellington Hospital on 15th June from pneumonia, induced by the injuries received by him when he fell from a scaffold on 2nd June.
