"The 'Times" Helsingfors correspondent . says that a representative of the newspaper "Sanomats" visited the, frontier, and asserts that the Soviet is fortifying a portion of the Russo-Finnish 'frontier,' lias evacuated at least one village, and is extending.the railways between 'Leningrad and the frontier. Travellers passing the frontier are blindfolded and rigorously searched. Soviet warships are increasingly active, and troops, with sappers,' infantry, and artillery, 'are continually manoeuvring. The Len-. ingrad garrison has been strongly ro-. inforeed. Local Finns fear that the Russian plans are not limited to manoeuvres,- Finnish troops on the.frontier have been reinforced.
