A search of a furnished room rent* ed by Prat revealed a mass of correspondence, including hundreds of replies to his matrimonial advertisements, a stock of women's clothes,1 hats, frocks^ shoes, stockings, and underwear; sufli* ' cient for a dozen women. It is estimated that Prat disposed of at least one victim . a month. Dr. Beroud, a police .specialist, at a post mortem on^ two bodies, declared that the victims were strangled with; hands.'
