DECREASES EVIDENT A big decrease in the Customs tVvenue collected at the port of Wellington during June of this year is seen when the figures are compared with those for the month of June of last year. There is also a slight decrease in the beer duty collected. Customs £3,182,819. £3,066,363 'Beer £65,620 £64,924* Although the customs duty collected is slightly less than the average for this time of the year, June of last year, however, proved an exceptional month on account of the large quantity of spirits cleared in anticipation of the change in tariff.
