NAVY LEAGUE LECTURE
* Mr. E. Darroch delivered a lecture on the Navy and the Navy League on Wednesday to a large audience in the Parish Hall at Karori, in .aid of the fund for the building of an Assembly Hall at Marsden School. -. ■Mr. Darroch stated that the Navy League was a non-political organisation of British peoples established for the purpose of keeping the Government of the day and the body of electors constantly alive to the absolute, necessity for a strong Navy. All exaggerations and sensations were carefully avoided, the league relying on facts to carry conviction. Lantern slides, illustrative of the work of the Navy in the Great War, were shown by Messrs. Warren and Edlin, and musical items were provided by Miss Eennie, Miss1 Hall-M'Lean y and Mr. Croft.
