Six sons and three daughters-wore present at-the golden wedding celebrations oi! Colonel Sir. Arthur 11. Holbvook, M.l\, and Lady Holbrook,. at their homo in Porehcstor square (London). -The family party was'complote, except for one married, daughter uiio is in America. Sir , Arthur Holbrook celebrated his 78th birthday a woek later. Ho advised' the observance of tho following rules to ensure long life and happiness: "Tako your troubles lightly and carry on. In these' days people are against largo families. They do not realise tho ploasuro which a man in his older days derives from a largo family—if they had been brought up properly. Try to be cheerful and happy, full of faith and hope. I'or happy marvied life you want that cheerfulness ami a spirit, of give and take. Tako plenty of exereiso/^and bo ijnodcrato in all' things.' To succeed in life young men ts'iould marry and settle down ;.is soon as they can afford it,, always being' careful, however, to avoid precipitate' marriage."
