PORT NICHOLSON CHESS CLUB
This club has just convicted its annual handicap tourney of the 1927-28 seasSfct, the best tallies being as follow:—
In playing off the tie for third prize. Mr. K. Andrews won from Mr. J. Lindsay (who several times won the championship of the Ngaio Chess Club). It may be added that this club has joined the Wellington Chess League, and has nominated Mr. J. W. Simpson to represent it in the league's "champion of champions" contest. In the initial round Mr. Simpson was pitted against Mr. S. Faulknor, tho Ngaio champion, the latter winning 2-0.
