CROWD DISAPPROVES
CASEY LOSES TO HAY ■ '■• i - ' ■ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, 22nd June. . A demonstration was made by a packed house at the conclusion of a. ten-round professional contest between Jim Broadfoot and Clarrie Pocock. There were two judges and a referee, and the decision was in favour of Broadfoot: - 'Xhe official annoilncer called Broadfoot's name, but inadvertently pointed to Pocock's corner. He hastened to make the correction, and held up Broadfoot's hand as the winner. The . crowd in the bpdy of the hall, however, disagreed with the decision, and counted out the announcer tfor several minutes. The\ demonstration was still going on when two amateurs were in the ring for the next contest. After the fight Pocock said he was quite satisfied the decision was the correct one, and he did not iike the atti" tude adopted by the crowd. The second professional contest between! Harry Casey and Artie Hay ended unexpectedly in the final round, when Casey, was disqualified for allegedly punching low. The bout had been a disappointing one! throughout.
