Welfare Officer .pending the hearing of the .case. - A remand to Wednesday, was granted in the case' of Ng Soong,' aged- 30,, who was charged with ■ indecently assaulting a child, aged 0. ":''■' Hcarstell Thompson, aged 38, .was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for the theft of two pairs of. boots, valued at £2 ss, from the doorway of J. Martin's shop. ..' ■'■•''-. i .' . Two youths appeared•'at the Lower Hutt Police Court this, morning,, charged with the theft of a quantity of chocolate and soft drinks from a shop in Cuba street, Lower Hutt; also with the theft, of knives and screwdrivers from' an adjoining shop. They were further charged with'converting a motor-car and a motor-cycle to their own use, and also with damaging a window. On the first charge they were convicted and ordered to come up £oi" sentence when called upon. They were alsoplaced under the' Welfare Officer, and their movements at nights restricted. They-. ■ were, ordered to make good the damage done and articles stolen. On the other charges they were convicted and discharged. ■ " ( '
