CLAIM AGAINST CITY £8500 COMPENSATION. AWARDED The hearing of thj, claim made by Millars' West Australian Hardwoods Company, Ltd., for £9108, compensation for approximately six acres of land which the Wellington City Corporation took for a football ground 'at Miramar, was concluded in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, before liis Honour Mr. Justice Iteed, and Messrs. J. M. Dalo. and C. J. S. Harcourt (assessors). After a retirement for nearly i,v/o hours,' his. Honour, iir announcing the unanimous judgment of the' Court, awarded, the claimant company £8500 "compensation. Assossors' foes were fixed at*; £21 each per day, and £126 costs 'w-ere^allowed against the respondent Corporation. The Corporation was ordered to pay tho claimant's assessor's fees. ... •■■•■-.■ ■ , Mr. M. Myers';. E.G.,. with him Mr. E. B. Evans, appeared for tho claimant company, and Mr. J. O 'Shea (City Solicitor), with him/Mr. J. Lockie, appeared for the Corporation.
