A sum of £50,000 of the estate; of the1 Newport banker, Charles' Joseph Brown, is in dispute in the Probate Court. , The testator's housekeeper, Amy A'nsell, produced a will dated 12th May, 1927. The defence alleged that the will wa"s not properly executed, and that Brown was of unsound mind. Mts. Arabella Burgess submitted a will dated 6th January, 1927, and was supported in this by four children of Brown's brother, residing in New Zealand. The Judge asked counsel how much of the estate would, be ■ consumed by litigation. He said he was1 always anxious to get people to put their heads together, as litigation was the most foolish of all ways ,of wasting money. Lawyers always got the best of it.' The case was adjourned.
