DOMINION CONTROL N.Z. COUNCIL MEETING A meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association was ' _ held last evening, Mr. F. Campbell presiding. _hsre were also present: Messrs. A. Varney, B. L. Salmon, H. I. Graves, H. H. Renai, J. A. Milburn, A. J. Hyder!' W. G. Bryce, F. Sanders, and H. L. Godber. In regard to" the withdrawal' from -the competition of the Thistle (Auckland) Club/the chairman expressed 'the hope that tho trouble would be amicably settled between the club and the Auckland Foot-' ball Association. , Regarding the F.A. trophy competition, Mr. Varney reported that a decision as to w.hich province—Auckland' or Canterbury—held the trophy, had nob been received from the English Football Association..* It was decided to cable the English Association on the matter. Replies were received to a circular letter the council sent to all local associations in which it was suggested- that the associations should set aside, a day as a benefit for the New Zealand Council. Taranaki, Manawatu, South Auckland, North Auckland, and Wellington Associations stated that benefit matches would be arranged, and the Otago Association stated that they would doy their best. In addition, Mr. W. Duncan (chairman of the Wellington Association) forwarded a cheque for two guineas. A lettter was received from the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. J. G. Coates) stating that he regretted that tlie Government was unable to extend favourable consideration to the New Zealand Council's request for a grant towards the expenses of the Canadian tour. The secretary reported that the entries for the Chatham Cup totalled twenty-five. The resignation was received with regret of Mr.. A. E. Gibbs, New Zealand representative on the English Football Association. It was decided to request Mr. A. Abbott to-represent. New. Zealand. The Competitions Committee recommended that • associations be 'requested that all local finals for the Chatham Cup be played By 14th July. The draw for the district finals is,as follows: —Hawkes Bay v. Manawatu, 14th July; Wellington v.. winners, 28th July (away from Wellington); North Auckland v. Auckland at North Auckland, 14th July; South Auckland v. winners at Auckland, 28th July; North Island final, 18th August; Otago v., Canterbury at Dunedin, to be played by 18th August. '
