Hav/kes Bay. . . Sco the Great Show Display. Twenty-seven years ago Mr. Bernard Chambers, of Havelock North, Ilawkes Bay, sold tho first wine to bo made commercially in New Zealand. The present To Mata Vineyards are the.outcome of Mr. Chambers's pioneer effort ■in the wine-growing .ndustry. Theso> magnificent vineyards, situated on the sunny slopes of the Havelock Hills, contain grape viiies of only the very finest variety. This factor, together with a collar as up-to-date as any in the world, and tho constant attention of the company's vigneron, combine to produce wines that can hold their own with.the bes^t Australian products. The company are the proud owners of seven gold medals, of:> which number three .wore gained at exhibitions held in Great Britain. The cellars aro three 'limes larger than- aiiy others in New Zealand, having a storage capacity of 100,000 gallons. There is to-day maturing in large oaken casks over 75,000 gallons. Visitors to the Show can satisfy themselves as to quality and excellence of these wines by sampling them at. the T.M.V. Wine Company's-stands. Mr. Riddiford is in charge of the stand in No. 2 Hall at the present Show, and, my conjunction with his assistant, Mi. 11. Anderson, who is well-known to. Show visitors, will be. pleased to meet all old and'now clients.
