COOL AND CHANGEABLE
THE WEATHER OUTLOOK
Conditions have remained generally cloudy, unsettled, and cold, and showers have fallen in most districts. The provailing winds aro still strong southwesterlies, but their, direction is more westerly ythan it was yesterday. "This slight change in the direction led last night'to the transference of tho rain area from tho East Coast to tho West Coast of the Dominion. Tho winds docreased "on the east .side but rose on tho west side. Pressure has risen slightly in.tho northern parts, but over the greater portion of New Zealand barometers aro still very low. The cyclone has moved slightly eastward and is now centred in tho vicinity of the Chatham Islands. The indications are for moderate to strong south-westevjy winds, reaching gale force at times, oil the West Coast and in tho Far South,'but decreasing gradually. Th weather is likely'to bo cool and changeable generally, with scattered showers, more especially in |,the western and'southern districts.
