ARTCRAFT THEATRE.
"Padlocked," from the story by Hex Beach, will be shown at the Artcraft Theatre to-night. Lois Moran, Loulso Dresser, and Noah Beery are tho leading players. Edith Gilbert resents her narrow-minded father's efforts to stifle her ambitions and repress her innocent pleasures. When his intolerance finally leads to her mother's accidental death, the girl runs away from home to become a cabaret dancer in New York. Her exciting adventures amidst tho gay night life of Broadway Is vividly and brilliantly portrayed. The manner in which tho elder Gilbert ■is brought to a startling realisation of his injustice to his daughter, their subsequent reunion, and tho girl's romance with a young scion of wealth, bring the picture to a stirring climax and a happy ending. Also showing is a further cpisodo of "The Greater Collegians" and an excellent supporting programme.
