LODGE MEETINGS
The half-yearly meeting uf Mclrosc Lodge, No. 06, U.A.O.D;, was held, A.D. Bro. Goddnrd, presiding. Various reports were received, and sick )>a\ passed. The ballancc-shee.t was pro sentcd and adopted, showing good progress. The auditor's report Mas received and eulogistic remarks made to the secretary and treasurer for the manner in which the books had been kept. The installation of officers was carried out by D.P. Bro. V. Rowland the following being installed: —A.D., Bro Milson; V.A., Bro. Barrett; J.P.A., Bro Goddard; treasurer, Bro. Tobin; 1.G., Bro Brown; 0.G., Bro. Prentice; A.D. Bards, Bros. Moore and Tomuri; A 7.A. Bards Bros. Tclloi'd and Potter. The sccrc tary, Bro. S. L. Hall, was presented to the D.l', for the purpose of being prorouted with a gold medal, suitably in scribed, for introducing the most new members into the lodge for the past year The D.P. referred to the good work dene, not only by the recipient, but also by the runner-up, Bro. Birkett, to whom '' was decided to make some suitable ru cognition of his services. The secretary, in responding, conveyed his thanks i-, P.D.P. Bro. J. Johnston, the donor ol the medal. Pioneer Lodge, No. 1, U.A.0.D., held its usual meeting, A.D., Bro. L. Cartmcr being in the chair. Supt. Bro Cooper installed the officers for the cur rent term. During a recess games were indulged in. A vote of thanks was ten dered to the assistant superintendent for sweets provided. Bro. Reeves offercu a prize for the first brother who gets five new members. Royal Arch Chapter, No. 4, Welling ton, held its monthly meeting last Wed nesday, R.A.D. Bro. Hall being in the chair. Excelsior Lodge was declared the winner of the Mooiiey Ritual Shield for past officers. In this test seven lodges competed. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:— R.A.D., Bro. H. J. Austin; R.V.A.D., Bro. Cooper; K.A.D.B's, Bros J. Johnson and T. Reeves; R.V.A.B.'s, Bros. W. Brown and J. Mullius; 1.G., Bro. F. Jennings; treasurer, Bro. T. MolUson; secretary, Bro. 1(\ Treymain; M.S.,- Bro. I(1. Barley. One member received his PastArch Degree. The Champion Arch Druid Medal was won by Bro. J. Rowarth, of Pacific Lodge. Holly Lodge, No. 14, U.A.0.D., Johusonville, held its fortnightly meeting last week, A.D. Bro. C. Reeves being in the chair. One member was, admitted by transfer. Sick pay amounting to £2 14s, and £120 death benefit were passed for payment. Officers were installed as follow:—A.D., Bro. W. S. Reeves; V.A., Bro. J. M'Mahoh; J.P.A., Bro. C. Reeves; 1.G., Bro. A. Smith; A.D.B.'s, Bros. L. W. Brown and A. Hall; V.A.B.'s, Bros. S. Alekna and T. Reeves; Mm. Sec, Bro. J. W. Ward; 0.G., Bro. F. Fisher. A vote of thanks was accorded Bro. W. F. Aitken, -D.P., for performing the installing ceremony.
