Interest h;is been created by a statement made yesterday in tlie House of Commons that a Dutch scheme had been submitted to the Colonial Secretary for the valorisation of mbber, but that for the present it must be treated as confidential. It is stated unofficially thiit the scheme in question is one drawn up by ti well-known banker of The Hague, and was forwarded recently to the London Ihibber Growers' Association and to the International Association for Kubber Cultivation. Telegrams from The "llaguo have stated that it is essential for the carrying out of this plan that there should be identical legislative measures taken by 1110 Dutch and British Governments, which presumably explains why the scheme was sent to the Colonial Office hero. , H is understood that, in Holland the scheme lins been submitted trt a special committee of seven people appointed liy the.
