Park on Saturday. They wero the aggressors for the greater part of the time, the forwards playing with fine dash and crippling most attempts made by Borhamporo to get their machinery in motion. After some of tho displays given this season, tho Borhamporo forwards were disappointing, for, although fairly successful in tho scrums, they wore unablo to make much headway. It always appeared that something was missing, but probably a good leader would have made- a big difference to them. As it was, Ponoko held tho upper hand practically throughout. Tho Beds pushed matters, and to such an extent in the first spell that it was not until near the interval that Bcrhampore reached their territory. In conditions such as prevailed on Saturday a forward game was to be expected. Tho Poneke backs, however, provided quite a number of bright passing movements, and while some of tho play was of a rather scrambly nature there wero at times somo very snappy incidents. Tho Poneke pack was in great form, Sly, Pickraug, Shearer, and Organ were toilers, who gavo no quarter. Pearson, too, shone out in the looso on several occasions. Perhaps tho most conspicuous player on the ground was H. Tilyard, tho Poneke half-back. Ho was in great form, handling the slippery, greasy ball expertly, and making a number of clever openings. Tho Poneke wing-three-quarters, Edgar and Elliott, showed their pace in several good runs down the line, and Barrett was a safe man at full-back. Some of the Bcrhampore players atone stage were inclined to make things a little too willing, and wero rightly warned by the referee. It is a pity, but a good deal of the trouble seems to bo caused by a section of the team's supporters, whose barracking is not always of the right type. Lang gave tho Blues good servicoat centre-three-quarter, saving his sido many a time. The other backs were not so sound. Pickering and Love were missed. Deere, who locked the scrum and was responsible for five of the points, played good football at times, but as mentioned before, the other forwards did not go as well as they usually do. Johnsonville and Hutt. ■V heavy ground and a wet ball made conditions difficult for good play when Johnsonville met Hutt at Kolburn Park last Saturday. The game developed into a tussle Between tho forwards, and the Johnsonville pack, played a sterling game throughout. Myers was in excellent kicking form for Johnsonville, landing three penalties and converting ono try. In this department he would be an acquisition to any senior A team. Chancy showed speed in the Johnsonville backs, and scored a good try. Sundgreen played a hard game in the Hutt forwards, ably assisted by Gibson in the looso. Fisher impressed as full-back. Lower Grade Tables. The tables, compiled by Mr. G. 1\ W. Jackson, of the W.R.U. Management Committee, are as follow: —
