CHILD'S SUDDEN DEATH
— «. .. 'NO-BLAME. ON PARENTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Bth June. An inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Graeme William M'Donald, aged three, who died yesterday at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Bain, 178, Macandrew road, South Dunedin, was held before Mr. J. E. Bartholomew, S.M., as Coroner. Mrs. Bain said tho lad commenced to cry on Wednesday night, complaining of pains in his stomach. He then vomited, and wont into a semi-uncon-scious condition. A doctor was summoned immediately, but did not arrive. In the meanwhile every attention was given tho. sufferer, and at midnight Bain went for tho same doctor, but could not get in touch with him till 0 a.m. yesterday. The doctor arrived at 6.45 a.m., shortly after the boy had expired. The child had always been healthy. Dr. bath (pathologist, hospital) performed a post-mortem examination, and found the body well nourished. He considered that death was due to strangulation in a portion of tho bowel. Tho Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony, no blame being attachable to the Bains.
