Pekin and Tokid reports say that the Nationalists have occupied Paotingfu, the key city to the capital, eighty miles SQuth-west of Pekin. The report, if true, means that Pcichunghsis troops thrown in from Shinh-Chia-Chuang have had.a serious reverse. Gbiang-Hsueh-Liang, a son of General Chang-Tso-Lin, was unable to' stem the Southern onslaught at Mancheng, west of Paoting-fii. The result was that the Southerners burst through the position, capturing the city at 3 o 'clock in the morning.
