CONDITIONS STILL ■ CHANGEABLE Since Tuesday morning the centre of the primary cyclone has moved eastwards, and by this morning was located on the Chatham Islands. There aro indications, however, of a secondary depression developing to the south-west of Now Zealand. The weather' has been generally unsettled, with much mist or fog, and rain in most districts. Yesterday'aiid last night some heavy falls wore experienced in places in the North Island and on the cast coast of the South Island, north from Akaroa. Gisborne, for the twenty-four hours up to 9 o 'clock to-day, had 149 points of rain; Wanganui, 50 points; Foxton, 216 points; Cape Campbell, 134 'points, and 'Wellington 72 points, which fell between 0.30 last night and about 2.30 a.m. to-day. Napier reported having had exceptionally heavy rain last night. By i) a.m. to-day only scattered rain was falling, Slid the conditions showed an improvement at various places. The forecast is for unsettled and changeable, weather, with rain in most districts.
