SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24' IIOUItS.
Generally unsettled weather, with much mist and fog, has prevailed, and further ruin lias fallen in most districts. During Tuesday and Tuesday night heavy falls wcro experienced at many places in the North Island and on the cast coast of the South Iglaud north of Akaroa. By 9 a.m. to-day, however, only scattered rain was falling! and the weather had improved at various places. Moderate to strong winds between west and south-west prevailed during Tuesday, but this morning directions were rather variable. Tho primary cyclone has moved to the eastward of New Zealand, but there aro indications of a secondary depression developing to the south-west of New Zealand.
