NEW ISLAND STEAMER
TO ARRIVE ON FRIDAY The New Zealand Government motorship Maui Poniare, which has been specially built for the Island services, will arrive at Wellington on Friday from Southampton, via Panama, Samoa, and Niuo Islands. The steamer brought out 7700 tons of cargo for Samoa, and she has loaded bananas at the Islands for the Now Zealand market. The mam part of her fruit cargo will be landed at Wellington, and the remainder will be transhipped to Lyttelton. On tlio >noxt trip the vessel will proceed from the Islands direct to Lyttelton, and thereafter her run will include direct connection between the'lslands and Lyttelton and Dunedin, alternatively, proceeding from Southern ports coastwise to Auckland before commencing her outward voyage.
