STRAND THEATRE.
Douglas Tairbanks's latest film, "The Gaucho," which is now screening at tho Strand Theatre, is a romantic story with a setting in tho beauty and majesty of South America. Fairbanks has the. role of the bandit chief, leader or Gaucho riders, who capture a city coveted by the villain of the story.''A wild mountain beauty, who is attracted by the notoriety of the bandit chief, joins the expedition on tho way to the town. Another beautiful woman is brought into the story when the saintly girl of tho captured city makes her appearance. Sho has won fame through her gentleness, and she stirs the love of the rough, lbut gallant bandit chief. The mountain girl, jealous of the other, betrays the bandits and they are dismissed, the chief being captured soon afterwards. Thrilling adventures end in the city being captured, and the chieftain rides away with the girl of his ■ choice. A large and well-Tarled supporting programme is,also presented. ' •■;
