HEAVY CARGO.
Tho transportation of some unusually heavy and bulky cargo' has recently been undertaken by a Commonwealth and Dominion liner. The Port Nicholson left New York on the 15th March for Adelaide, carrying on deck one sleeping car and one dining car, of which the dimensions, without the bogles were:— Length, 81ft Din; width, 10ft; height, lift lOin; weight, 49 tons. The.cars were boxed in, after having been placed on the ship's dock by the 00-ton floating crane. The bogies, weighing 11 tons for each ear, were taken in the ship's cargo holds. The cars, of which there is one more to be shipped later, were built in Chicago.
