HEAVY RAINS
AND MORE TO COME During tho last three days Now Zealand's weather has been dominated by a rather intense cyclone over the Tasman Sea. The centre of this has moved slowly southward, and was this morning located about 400 miles west of Cape Egmont. This ■ disturbance, which shows signs of., gradually filling up, was responsible during the weekend for north-easterly gales and a heavy rainfall. Wellington escaped the wind and had 60 points of rain, but other places experienced boisterous weather and much heavier rain, Waihi recording 530 points. The unsettled weather was general. The indications are that moderate to strong northerly winds will back to tho south. Theweather will continue to be cloudy and unsettled, with much mist and fog. There will be further rain in most districts, especially north of Westport and Kaikoura.
