RUMOURS ABOUT OPENING Australian Press Association—United Serrtc*. AMSTERDAM, 26th May. Following a report that the Queen will not open the Olympic Games, a sensation was caused by a report in the "Telegraph" that the. Burgomaster will bo away from the capital on,holiday during the main part of the programme. Significance lies in. the fact that the Burgomaster is a strict Sabbatarian, in consequence of which Amsterdam is one of the few.cities in Holland where public dances are forbidden on Sundays. The Burgomaster denies that he will be absent during the Olympic Games.
